Pastors Message:

UNLOCKING YOUR PORTION THRU PRAISE

God has assigned you a portion for this life and for all of eternity. Isn’t it about time that you receive all that God has for you? The psalmist David said this in Psalm 16:5-6: “Lord, you have assigned me my portion and my cup; you have made my lot secure. The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; surely I have a delightful inheritance.” Isn’t it exciting to know that God has a wonderful life for you to live?

Yet, if you want to receive and enjoy all that God has set aside for you, then you are going to have to receive it by faith. You are going to have to learn how to unlock your portion. The scriptures show us that all God has for you can be unlocked through praise. You might have a low opinion of praise but praise is the key that will unlock that which has been held back.

A wonderful picture of how praise unlocks your portion is found in the way that the twelve tribes of Israel moved in obedience to the Lord while going to the promised land. In Numbers 10:14 God instructed Moses to have one tribe, the tribe of Judah always go first before the other tribes when it was time to move out. “Judah” means praise. What God was saying is that the way forward is made clear when we go with praise. Your future is made secure when you praise God. Doors open to you. The path becomes clear.

How can this be? It is because praise lifts up God and puts down the enemy of your soul. While you are proclaiming how wonderful God is and all that God has done for you, then the enemy flees. There is no place for the enemy in your life. The Lord instead goes before you and makes the way clear. Psalm 8:2 reminds us that our praise silences the enemy of our souls. Another wonderful benefit of praise is that it also lifts any heaviness or discouragement from your life while you are moving forward with God. (Isaiah 61:3) So, why not praise and watch your portion get unlocked right before your eyes? Go ahead and praise the Lord while your portion is released for you.
